TOBY Playpad 2 is a comprehensive GUIDE to therapy designed by an experienced team of therapists, computer scientists and parents. It offers achievable tasks to help children learn language, cognitive and social skills.

TOBYs GUIDE provides clear information on how to apply effective teaching strategies to facilitate your childs learning. All tasks have been extensively trialled and have been shown to really work!

TOBY aims to empower parents and teachers to assist children, by using evidence-based techniques.

Wifi is needed to download the app, register and log-in. After that, Wifi is only needed to upload / back-up results.

Therapy Outcomes By You (TOBY) is a program for you and your child to do. Tasks are organised into a curriculum tree starting with early developing skills. Children must achieve certain skills (pre-requisites) before they move on to more difficult tasks. New tasks become available as your child completes each pre-requisite. TOBYs dynamic curriculum enables you to tailor the program to your childs individual learning needs. You choose the goals you want your child to work towards and adjust the complexity of tasks as needed. This allows your child to progress with confidence and ease.

TOBY is based on evidence-based intervention techniques and has been designed by a qualified team, including a speech pathologist and clinical psychologist.

TOBY Playpad 2s syllabus targets key areas:
• Pre-academic skills,
• Receptive Language & Expressive Communication skills, and
• Social Skills.

TOBY uses:
• On-iPad tasks for you and your child to complete (over 30)
• On-iPad games and rewards, and
• Off-iPad activities (over 300) to do at home or in the classroom as part of your normal daily play activities.

TOBY generates a list of tasks and you choose the ones you want to complete each day. Based on your childs results, TOBY generates suggestions for the following days activities.

A typical day with TOBY might include 20mins doing On-iPad tasks, and 20mins doing Off-iPad tasks that weave into your daily routines and your childs play interests. The amount of activities you do is guided by you and your child, e.g., you may do 2 or 3 activities in total each day. 
 
TOBY is designed for children needing extra help with language, social skills, and/or sensory-cognitive skills. Some children may be typically developing with only some minor areas needing work, or they might have a formal diagnosis, such as Autism, PDD-NOS, and/or developmental delay, and need to work on a number of areas.

TOBY’s activities can be easily transferred into your child’s everyday life and can be used in a range of settings:
• Learning can easily occur at home, at school or out in the community – any settings where your child is able to engage in either on-iPad or off-iPad activities.  The only limit is your imagination.
• Therapists may like to use TOBY to complement current intervention goals.  It is especially helpful in guiding parents with home-based and community-based activities to help generalise a range of important learning skills. 
• Teachers may like to use TOBY within the classroom and playground settings to help individual and/or groups of students achieve learning success.

TOBY tracks your child’s progress by generating clear and easy to read reports – you can visually see how your child is progressing through the curriculum tree, and how much support, or prompting, they need. This helps parents, therapists and educators track your child’s learning and pinpoint where and why problems might be occurring. TOBY Playpad 2 offers greater recording capabilities, and gives confidence in knowing exactly how children are progressing. TOBYs GUIDE also offers ideas to help optimise the home / school environment for learning; task-specific instructions; and troubleshooting for common problems.
